Welcome! Thanks for stopping by to learn more about the Compassion, Wisdom, and Persistence Project — the CWP Project!

By the way, please excuse our mess. Since we're just starting out, things are messy. For example, the image and text formatting isn't very pretty, at all. We want to kick things off, then polish and refine our approach as we learn.

So, WHY are we doing this?!? We're hoping to help reduce the challenges we're facing in today's culture and society – feeling confused, overwhelmed, anxious, frustrated, helpless, hopeless, disconnected, isolated, forgotten, pointless.

After talking with friends, colleagues, and community members, we decided that we want a project that allows us to tackle these challenges in a fun, creative way. We want to leverage our collective wisdom. We want to celebrate our diversity and our similarities. We think our most basic similarities are compassion, wisdom, and persistence. We seem to share these core values across our differences; regardless of our culture, spirituality, location, and so on. This basis gives us a unique opportunity to practice inclusiveness; welcoming others to actively join us on this journey. Better yet, it gives us the chance to figure out fun and meaningful ways for others to share their unique experiences, talents, tools, and connections with our broader communities; to participate and contribute. Equally important, this project gives us a chance to intentionally choose joyfulness; allowing us to practice positivity. Finally, this project will allow us all to work together toward a common goal in an incredibly flexible way given our different schedules and spread out locations (… plus, our pandemic social distancing).

Next, WHY are we doing this so publicly?!? Originally, we were exploring this project as our own journey to greater compassion, wisdom, and persistence. Then, as mentioned, we realized there might be others in our communities or across the world who might be interested in joining us in this journey. We want to be inclusive; to celebrate our diversity and our similarities. So, here we are! Please join us! We'll share more information soon about ways you can join us!

Basically, the items below outline our thinking so far. As we move forward, we'll refine and improve our approach based on our experiences and collective wisdom.
  1. Inspire compassion, wisdom, and persistence by offering a collective journey toward greater mindfulness.
    • Share short, relevant quotes through social media networks, with links to blog posts with deeper context and participation opportunities.
    • Host virtual gatherings to discuss: How we might practice greater compassion, wisdom, and persistence for ourselves, our families, our friends, and our communities? How might we contribute to our collective practice and shared journey? How might we share our time, energy, and more importantly, our unique experiences, talents, tools, and connections?
  2. Gather and nurture a community of like-minded members.

Please be patient. This is an experiment; trial and error. We're learning. We're doing the best we can given our circumstances and available resources.

Most of all, we're excited that you've stopped by. We appreciate your interest and patience!
